Fellowship of Christian Athletes, FCA, is one of the new clubs that we have this year at Mooney. FCA is a Christian club in schools all across the country. Brielle Buckley, class of 2027, is the founder of the outlet at Mooney and says the club “is about being in fellowship in Christ amongst your peers, and to bring Christianity to a mostly godless culture. It’s about learning and growing in relationship with Jesus Christ while also growing bonds with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ doing so! Our purpose in this world is to spread the good news, and FCA’s goal is to not only build relationships but make amazing people in Christ, making disciples who make disciples. Jesus is the purpose and point of this life, and that should be a truth all people get to experience!”
At Mooney, FCA meets every Thursday at 7 am in room E222 and is administered by Mrs. Ruta. At club rush, over 80 students signed up, breaking club sign up records. This club is dedicated to learning about Jesus, how His gift of salvation starts with believing in His death and resurrection, how He strengthens and helps us, and inspires us to strengthen our relationship with the Lord. Students do not have to be athletes to join. Every club meeting starts with donuts, a fun game (last week was Bible trivia), a message given by a student leader, and ends in breakout discussion groups where students can answer questions, ask questions, and gather in fellowship with one another.
